Royal Legacy and Modern Luxury Converge at Jai Vilas Palace for Exclusive Palace Prive Soiree
Robb Report India and the royal family of Gwalior, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia and Mahanaaryaman Scindia, hosted the exclusive Palace Prive #RRExperience at Jai Vilas Palace on April 8-9, 2026. This immersive 24-hour event showcased Madhya Pradesh’s heritage through royal culinary traditions, artisanal crafts, and elite partnerships with Bentley and Macallan for a select group of global tastemakers.
Personally curated by Priyadarshini Raje Scindia in conjunction with the palace concierge, the special 24-hour itinerary provided an intimate window into the cultural legacy of the region within one of the most celebrated royal residences in India. Built in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia, Jai Vilas Palace is renowned for its European-Maratha architectural influences and its grand Durbar Hall, serving as both the setting and the primary storyteller for the event. As a residence that continues to house the Scindia family while operating as a public museum, the palace functioned as a backdrop bridging the past and the present. Avarna Jain, Chairperson of RPSG Lifestyle Media, stated that Palace Prive represents the essence of Robb Report India by providing access to the exceptional through a collaboration rooted in heritage yet contemporary in its expression of luxury.
The first day featured a grand tour of the Durbar Hall and a soulful performance by Nayab Midha, culminating in an intimate dining experience from the royal kitchen. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the palace, the evening offered a curated menu inspired by recipes passed down through generations, reflecting the specific culinary traditions of the royal family. Priyadarshini Raje Scindia noted that the experiences created around Gwalior and Jai Vilas Palace are based on personal memories and time spent with her children, describing the event as an opening of their home to share those memories with guests.
On the morning of April 9, the experience moved beyond the palace interiors to highlight the rich artisanal traditions of the region during the Crafters’ Brunch. Local craftsmen, including lac bangle makers, chanderi weavers, and carpet artisans, were invited to present their work, allowing guests to touch, feel, and engage with the art and craft of the region. Priyadarshini Raje Scindia emphasized that despite the short duration of the visit, the goal was to curate exclusive experiences that allowed guests to understand the depth of local craft practices, asserting that the 24-hour window successfully unveiled the richness of Madhya Pradesh and Gwalior.
The deeply personal program was shaped through the close involvement of Priyadarshini Raje Scindia and Mahanaaryaman Scindia working alongside Robb Report India. The distinguished guest list included tastemakers from film, food, design, and culture, such as actor and philanthropist Dia Mirza with husband Vaibhav Rekhi, actor Aditi Rao Hydari with husband Siddharth, designers Raghavendra Rathore and Kavita Rathore, entrepreneur Devyani Jaipuria, and hotelier Yeshwant Holkar. Aindrila Mitra, Editor of Robb Report India, emphasized that the #RRExperience aims to provide an immersive leg to the magazine title through intentional storytelling rather than excess, with itineraries ranging from 12 to 36 hours.
Palace Prive underscored a shared philosophy between the Scindia family and Robb Report India, placing craftsmanship, heritage, and authenticity at the center of modern luxury. Robb Report India remains a global voice of luxury under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, a USD 7-billion conglomerate with diverse interests. By merging cultural narratives with artisanal excellence, the event reflected a commitment to curating meaningful luxury experiences that celebrate India’s heritage and evolving creativity.
